Mountain bikers know the importance of changing tire pressure to adapt
to the terrain, and the ADAPTRAC makes it possible to make these
adjustments on the fly.
The ADAPTRAC features a handlebar unit that allows riders to add or remove air, adding the air from a compressed air tank mounted on the tube. The air travels through hoses to the ADAPTRAC wheel hub, which use "special, extremely low friction rotary seals" to prevent the air from leaking while the wheel spins freely.
The tires' current air pressure is displayed on analogue gauges mounted on the bar.
