BETHESDA, Maryland, Jul 24, 2012 -
The Piggyback Rider®
burst into the outdoor industry last summer with a unique kid carrier
made to promote active outdoors transport. It won “Best New Product” at
the Summer 2011 Outdoor Retailer Summer Market show and nabbed numerous
other parenting and family awards.
Not content on resting on their laurels, brothers and co-inventors Jonny and Wayne Lifshitz head to the 2012 Summer Outdoor Retailer
show to debut an expanded line of Piggyback Rider carriers, including a
model with an integrated hydration pack and a model sure to turn heads
and become a family favorite - one that’s built around a standard
backpack.
“We had a great reception to, and vital feedback on, the original
Piggyback Rider that allowed children to stand behind mom or dad and
share the outdoor experience,” said Wayne Lifshitz. “Now we have
Piggyback Rider models to enhance that – from keeping the parents
hydrated to allowing the family to carry necessary equipment, snacks and
spare clothes.”
The new models will be available for purchase on piggybackrider.com beginning July 30.
The Piggyback Rider® is a mutually enjoyable, effortless way to
carry a child (2½+ years) on your back. It’s worn like a backpack,
utilizing a shoulder-mounted foot-bar to distribute the child’s weight
at your core, enabling a more natural and upright walking posture. The
child stands safely on the wide textured foot-bar, holding integrated
shoulder handles and secured to the adult by a safety harness. It’s
built from industry leading climbing components and over-engineered for
safety.
The new models are built around the same “Ride the Bar” concept,
only adding additional versatility to the carrier. The uncompromising
engineering of the Piggyback Rider remains unchanged, but a number of
intelligent updates to the previous model have been made. These include a
more robust foam core for comfort, a cell phone pocket on the front, a
rear zip pocket for small items, a deluxe child safety harness with a
1-liter bladder and a completely redesigned multi-use storage bag.
The remarkable Piggyback Rider Backpack features the patented
toddler carry system integrated into a standard backpack. The standing
bar is stowed within the backpack, ready for use anytime, anywhere.
Unzip the pouch and the bar drops down ready for use. The innovative,
unisex design incorporates standard backpack adjustments to distribute
the child’s weight at your core, while they stand firmly on the tempered
aluminum bar supported by the shoulder carrier.
“The outdoor community will absolutely love this new pack from us,”
said Wayne. “It’s a big enough pack to bring everything you need for a
day hike, plus it has a built in kid carrier for times when your toddler
needs a break from walking; it really gives parent and child a way to
enjoy the outdoors together.”
The entire Piggyback Rider line will be on display in Booth PV313 at the 2012 Summer Outdoor Retailer in Salt Lake City, Utah.
