The shoes aim to marry athletic footwear with digital technology and mobile apps to enable athletes to measure performance and expand their experience. The Nike+Training shoes are just one of several offerings that comprise the company’s digital offerings. Nike reported in late September that more than 8.5 million people had registered to use such products.
The Nike+Training shoes, which were launched with great fanfare in February using celebrity athletes, were priced from $220 to $235 dollars. Nike is moving forward with other parts of the Nike+ line, including the Nike+Basketball line, which the company will market throughout the holidays.
Oregon.live.com, The Oregonian’s website, reported that Nike will refresh the Nike+ Training app and bring new versions of the footwear to market next year.
