Boulder, CO (PRWEB) January 2013
Colorado-based Renewable Choice Energy (http://www.renewablechoice.com) announced today that it will host a business sustainability breakfast event focused on supply chain sustainability in cooperation with CORE and the Outdoor Industry Association (OIA).
The event, Supply Chain Sustainability: Getting on Board, will provide small-to-medium sized businesses with concepts related to supply chain sustainability and tools for companies to affect change within their own supply chain. Supply chain sustainability requirements are quickly growing to become a key market-driven response to consumer demands for social and environmental responsibility and transparency, and are being used to drive innovation, cost-savings, and supplier engagement at companies around the globe.
“As companies become more savvy in their approach to sustainability, they are coming to realize that sustainability strategy extends beyond the operations that are under their direct control,” said Matt Wood, Director of Sustainability Services for Renewable Choice. “In order to fully understand an organization’s environmental and social impacts, the supply chain must be taken into consideration.”
Renewable Choice will be joined by representatives from the OIA, a Colorado-based industry association that works to ensure the growth and success of the outdoor industry. The leading voice of the industry, the OIA was instrumental in the development of the Eco Index, the flagship project of the OIA’s Sustainability Working Group, and the basis for the recently released Higg Index.
“We’ve had the privilege to be part of the OIA’s Sustainability Working Group and are delighted to partner with them for this CORE event,” said Renewable Choice’s VP of Communications, Amy Haddon. “We’re looking forward to sharing our experiences working with some of the largest companies in the world to help them address sustainability within their supply chain.”
The breakfast event will be held on February 14th at Renewable Choice’s Boulder headquarters. For more information, or to register, visit CORE.
