Albiro, a leading Swiss workwear company, is setting up a high-caliber
management to capitalize on its diversification into the sports segment.
The company took over last year Frencys, a major Austrian supplier of
skiwear for ski instructors, and Bailo, the Italian brand of outdoor and ski clothing. Albiro’s newest hires are Armin Vollmer, formerly with
Intersport International and Columbia Sportswear, and Patrick
Steinhilber, a former manager of Nike and Kjus who joined the company
last week, just before ISPO MUNICH.
They both report to Tomi Wüthrich,
in charge of strategic marketing and sales, who comes from Odlo and
Salomon. Bailo was going to merge with Vist, but it did not work out for
a variety of reasons. More on this in the next SGI Europe.
