Etnies, the skateboarder-owned and operated global action sports
footwear and apparel company, planted the first seed back in 2011 when
it initiated its Buy a Shoe, Plant a Tree reforestation program and has
since sprouted more than 200,000 trees in Costa Rica and Brazil.
A Etnies Buy a Shoe, Plant a Tree microsite, which includes a live tree-planting counter, has been launched.
Etnies
also launched a new microsite and video infographic that tells the
whole story behind Buy a Shoe, Plant a Tree:

By visiting the new Buy a
Shoe, Plant a Tree microsite on etnies.com, customers can learn how the
program works and see how many trees have been planted so far, including
their own tree contribution, through the live tree-planting counter.
Also, the site’s timeline breaks down the program year-by-year showing,
through videos, photography and descriptive text, how this initiative
has helped replenish devastated forest communities.
Now in its
third year, the Buy a Shoe, Plant a Tree program continues to be
cultivated. etnies is on track with its 2013 goal of planting 200,000
more trees in Sao Paulo, Brazil through the help of consumers and the
brand’s continued reforestation nonprofit partner Trees for the Future.
The
current spring 2013 Buy a Shoe, Plant a Tree collection for men, women
and kids can be viewed and purchased on the Buy a Shoe, Plant a Tree
microsite, including etnies pro surfer and current program ambassador
Matt “Wilko” Wilkinson’s signature colorways of the Dory and Dapper
styles. The “Make Wilko Plant Trees” campaign can be viewed here:
