Woodstock, CT, May 02, 2013 -
To support athletes and educate spectators about its brand,
PORON® Cushioning is teaming up with the Ragnar Relay Cape Cod race
taking place May 3-4, 2013. The Relay will take teams from the start
line in Hull, MA to the finish line in Provincetown, MA.
From the shores in Hull, MA, teams of runners will head towards
Plymouth and run along the canal trail. They will continue along
beaches and through the historic towns of Cape Cod as they make their
way to Provincetown. Each team is comprised of 12 runners (except for
"Ultra Teams", which race with 6 runners) who will each run three legs
of varying length and difficulty during the 200-mile relay race.
"PORON Technologies are engineered to protect, cushion and provide
dependable performance during training and competition, helping athletes
achieve their most challenging goals," said Dave Sherman, New Business
Development Manager, PORON Performance Cushioning. "Teaming up with The
Ragnar Relay is a great opportunity for us to showcase our global brand
partners who use our product, and most importantly, give Ragnar athletes
a chance to experience the benefits of PORON Cushioning."
The Ragnar Relay started in 2004 with 22 teams competing in Utah, and
has grown to be the largest relay event in the country. The Series has
stops everywhere from the Florida Keys to the Northwest Passage. Named
after a ninth century Norse King known for being a pirate, a raider, a
conqueror, and an explorer, the Ragnar Relay gives runners of all
abilities the chance to get out, explore, and experience outdoor
adventure.
Jeff Pace, one of the Ragnar Relay event organizers states, "We are
excited to have PORON Cushioning back as a partner of the event.
Athletes who have met the team at past Ragnar and other events love
seeing the variety of products where PORON Materials can be found - and
of course love the SWAG they hand out!"
The PORON Cushioning street team will be staffing booths at Exchange
#6 and the finish line. They will be displaying gear made with PORON
Products, handing out swag, and entering people into a sweepstakes for a
chance to win one of three pairs of Vasque Pendulum shoes.
In addition to the race, spectators and athletes will be able to
enjoy live bands and other vendor booths stationed along the course.
