Busines people : Trigger Point Performance Appoints CEO

Trigger Point Performance named Andrew Menter as CEO effective June 1.  For over six years, Menter has served as a business advisor to Founder Cassidy Phillips and joined the Trigger Point Performance Board of Directors in January of 2012. The appointment will allow Phillips to have a stronger focus on future product development and self-care education and advocacy.

Menter attended Brown University as an undergraduate. He earned his JD/MBA at the University of Houston and is a member of the State Bar of Texas. After spending five years working on Wall Street, Menter served as CEO of Vivature, Inc., the leading provider of insurance billing services in campus health. His athletic accomplishments include being a 4x Ironman finisher, including a sub-11 finish time at the 2011 Ironman World Championships.

According to Phillips, “This move will give me the opportunity to focus on what I do best, product innovation, branding and motivational speaking. This is a change I have been focused on for the last several years and Andrew has been a part of this company for over 6 years. I am confident that he has the skills, leadership and passion to be the CEO we need in order to grow Trigger Point Performance and take us to that next level.”

Phillips founded Trigger Point by selling TP massage balls out of his van, engaging in a concerted grassroots marketing effort to reach its customers. Eleven years later, Trigger Point Performance is now available in over 50 countries. With over 600% growth in 3 years, Trigger Point has a management team in place to continue the aggressive growth path.

In addition to Menter, Mauricio Delgado joined the company in March as Senior Vice President of Operations. Previously, Delgado served as COO for a global composite manufacturing company where he focused on production processes, quality control and product development. Hank Coleman, who has been with the company since 2012 as both COO and CFO, will retain his title as Chief Financial Officer as Delgado transitions to the COO role. Mark Ish, who was recently named as one of the top “40-under-40” Sporting Goods Executives in 2013 by the Sporting Goods Business Journal, joined Trigger Point Performance in August of 2012 as Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing.

Having celebrated its 10th year anniversary last summer, Trigger Point’s addition of three senior executives will enable the company to continue delivering the leading innovative education and self-care products.
