Kjus, the Swiss marketer of ski, golf and outdoor apparel, has managed
to stop distribution of a down jacket offered by Tom Tailor, the fashion
company.
Kjus argues that it owns the rights to the use of certain
color combinations and the implementation of various functional features
in a down jacket called Backflip.
According to the sportswear brand,
Tom Tailor distributed a garment very similar to the Kjus model. Tom
Tailor has agreed to halt distribution of its own jacket and to destroy
the pieces which are sold through the fashion company’s own outlets.
Kjus said that the settlement was reached through a mutual amicable
agreement.
