New products : Vasque Introduces New Performance Hiking Category With The Elemental Collection

Grand Traverse

Building upon current footwear trends of light, fast and end-use specific, Vasque is debuting its new Elemental Collection, a performance hiking line that is designed for mastering all elements encountered on the trail. The two styles in the collection, the Grand Traverse and Lotic, are environment -specific shoes that offer supreme traction and comfort for long days on the trail.

Designed for all-day comfort across a variety of terrain – fast hiking, running, rock hopping, wet rock scrambling – the Grand Traverse is a lightweight shoe with a grippy outsole and a mesh and suede upper. The dual compound sticky Vibram® Ibex outsole is comprised of Vibram’s Megagrip for traction and durability in high wear areas and Vibram’s Idrogrip for more surface contact and wet rock grippiness elsewhere. A protective layer of PU molded over the mesh upper provides additional abrasion resistance without compromising the breathability while a webbing yoke around the heel tightens for a consistent secure and snug fit with just a pull of the laces. Technical details such as a molded EVA midsole and dual density EVA footbed promise stability and comfort for a performance fit in this versatile mountain shoe. Vibram Ibex Outsole

When the trail ahead is filled with adventure and water, the Lotic will help hikers navigate the trails and rocks with ease and stability. This performance hiker is built for wet environments when high traction and grippy soles are a necessity. The Vasque Exclusive Vibram® Slickrock outsole with Idrogrip has 3mm lugs and ultra-stickiness for superior traction in the wettest conditions. Portals in the soles allow water to drain out of the shoe while a monofilament screen prevents silt and other particulates from finding their way in. With a quick pull of the Kevlar one pull lacing system a webbing yoke tightens up around the ankle to ensure a secure fit and keep out dirt, silt and sand. A molded EVA midsole combined with a low to the ground design allow for better stability in wet environments. Available in two colors for men and two colors for women. MSRP $ 99.99.
