Business news : Easton-Bell Licenses Kevlar Trademark to Resolve Dispute with DuPont

Easton-Bell Sports Inc. has agreed to license the Kevlar trademark for use in tires, locks and other bicycle products marketed under the Bell and Blackburn brands to resolve trademark litigation with E.I. DuPont de Nemours & Co.

DuPont filed a trademark infringement lawsuit - E.I. DuPont de Nemours & Co. v. Easton- Bell Sports Inc., 1:13-cv-00150, U.S. District Court, District of Delaware (Wilmington) – earlier this year that alleged Easton-Bell’s use of the DuPont and Kevlar trademarks on its packaging violated DuPont's trademark rights.

Tires made from Kevlar are prized by cyclists for their light weight, durability and because their foldability makes them easy to carry as a back-up tire during road or trail rides.
