Oct. 29, 2013 - CHEYENNE, WY—Today OutdoorGearLab.com revealed the results of the 2013 Editors’ Choice Awards for the Mountain Bike Short category, listing this year’s best and best value. The OutdoorGearLab Review Editors chose the following winners after extensive field testing across various cross-country trails in California and Utah, riding lift assisted trails at Mammoth Mountain, CA, and in an Enduro race in Moab, UT. Eight top-of-the-line mountain bike shorts were subjected to head-to-head tests to determine which performed best across these metrics: features, durability, protection, fit, comfort, pedal performance, and style. The shorts were evaluated for usefulness and comfort during different styles of mountain biking, from XC to downhill to enduro, and found that some are best suited to certain styles of riding, while others are versatile enough for all types.
