New product : Dirty Larry Golf to Showcase Navigator Training Aid at 2014 PGA Merchandise Show

Jan. 8, 2014 - RALEIGH, N.C. -- Raleigh-based LLC, Dirty Larry Golf has announced the upcoming release of its putting training aid, the Navigator.  It is the company’s first product to hit the market.  The aid will officially be introduced January 21, 2014 at the PGA Merchandise Show in Orlando, Fla.  Dirty Larry Golf is currently in its soft launch phase with plans for distribution by spring.

About Dirty Larry Golf

Dirty Larry Golf is a North Carolina corporation, founded in March of 2013.  The golf lifestyle brand has placed a special focus on developmental tools and instruction.  It has set out to grow the game of golf by making it more fun and enjoyable for its players.

Founder “Dirty” Larry Feistel received his nickname while working as a starter at Lonnie Poole Golf Course at North Carolina State University.  At age 65, his skill on the course and ability to outplay young college students quickly gained attention.  The local crowd began referring to him as “Dirty Larry” out of respect.  Larry says that when it came time to pick a name for the business, Dirty Larry Golf was a no-brainer.  “We toyed with some other more mainstream names, but when I really thought about it, I knew in my gut that this was the answer.  It’s our tribute to all the guys and gals that have been so helpful and supportive along the way.  And I think this idea of being ‘dirty’ is something every golfer can relate to on some level.”

Director of Marketing and Brand Development Elyssa Dornic explained the company’s function as a lifestyle brand, “Golf is so different from any other sport.  It’s truly a lifestyle.  And there are a wide variety of reasons that people become passionate about playing, whether they’re serious or recreational players.  I think some of that gets lost in the way that the sport is presented by the typical brand. We’re bringing a new energy and hopefully changing the way that golf is viewed, while maintaining respect for the rules and expectations of the PGA.  This, along with instructional tools like the Navigator, is our platform for growing the game worldwide.”

About the Navigator

The Navigator is an eye-training instrument that attaches to the shaft of any putter.  It relies on alignment rods to demonstrate putter face angle at address and at impact.

Larry linked with one of the recent graduates of the PGA Golf Management Program at N.C. State University, Dave Nastalski, who now co-founds the company.  Together, along with the engineering team at Touchstone 3D in Cary, N.C., they developed the Navigator, which they say is unlike anything else on the market.  Dave believes there is massive potential for the company and the product. “The Navigator is a simple device that really works.  In my teaching, I look for three things before prescribing a training aid to a client: Does it correct poor motion?  Does it provide feedback when executing properly or improperly?  Does skill acquired translate onto the course?  The Navigator does all three.  And that’s a very rare thing.”
