Oboz Launches Mobile-Friendly Website

(Bozeman, MT, September 17, 2014)—The fall hiking season is in full swing and Oboz has launched a new website that makes getting info about Oboz shoes and boots fast and easy. The new site—at www.obozfootwear.com—is designed to cater to mobile users, but also serves desktop or laptop researchers with clean, simple navigation and functionality.

The new site has a number of features that help retailers or customers when they are looking for their next pair of trail footwear.   The design fits small to large screens and big, mobile friendly buttons lead and load quickly to product information in just one or two clicks.  Users can do a side-by-side comparison of up to three products or filter results of products based on desired technical features, such as waterproof or leather-only styles. Complete details of each shoe or boot are readily outlined without cumbersome navigation or scrolling.

The site also integrates a map-based dealer locater and social links to Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. Oboz fans can write product reviews and share them on social sites.

According to a comScore Inc. report, the use of mobile devices is now more prevalent than desktop or laptops.  in December 2013, 56.9% of time spent online occurred on mobile devices. Furthermore, customers are expecting a mobile friendly site—a staggering 70% of smartphone users use their phone while shopping, and 74% of visitors are more likely to return to a mobile friendly site, according to a 2012 Google Survey.

But one thing has not changed at www.obozfootwear.com: the company’s policy about selling directly to consumers.  “We do not sell online because we do not want to compete with our retailers that are helping build the Oboz brand,” said Oboz President John Connelly.  “But we believe the new website is a robust, fast and easy-to-use tool that supports our retailers’ business.”
