Therm-a-Rest® LuxuryLite™ Cot Accessories Win Award at 2014 Outdoor Trade Show

Therm-a-Rest, the Seattle-based leader in camp comfort, today announced that two of its 2015 LuxuryLite™ “cot” collection accessories have won an award at the 2014 Outdoor Show Novel Awards for 2015 products, as selected by UK retailers and industry experts.

 The Therm-a-Rest LuxuryLite Cot Bug Shelter and Sun Shield won the top spot in the “Tents and Awnings” category. First determined as finalists in the category, both accessories were named a winner by a panel of outdoor industry experts after careful assessment.

The flagship LuxuryLite Cot Bug Shelter fits snugly atop all LuxuryLite cots to keep mosquitos, spiders, and other uninvited guests at bay. The bug-stopping mesh retains high-clarity visibility and ventilation while the easy-to-set-up unified hub and pole system erects 140 cm high for a tent-like sleep experience. The LuxuryLite Cot Sun Shield plays double duty: the reflective, heat-blocking ThermaCapture™ coating repels the sun’s rays while the tarp’s taped seams provide light weather protection on rainy nights.

The esteemed panel of judges for the 2014 Outdoor Trade Show Novel Awards included: Andrew Denton, Chief Executive of the Outdoor Industries Association; Ben Winnard, South West Regional Manager of Cotswold Outdoor; Bryn Davies, Gear Editor of Adventure Travel; John Manning, Editor of Lakeland Walker; Phoebe Smith, Editor of Wanderlust; Simon Ingram, Editor of Trail; Steve Jenkinson the National Sales Manager of Go Outdoors; and Tom Richardson, Editor of Outdoor Review and Gear Editor of Climb. A total of eight products received an award, selected from a list of 22 finalists.

Also new for 2015 in the “cot” collection accessories range, is the Cot Pillow Keeper which keeps renegade pillows in place. Built with soft, brushed polyester, the Cot Pillow Keeper features adjustable straps to fit all of the LuxuryLite cot widths and the unique design keeps pillows from migrating throughout the night. Store headlamps and reading materials in the two underside pockets for easy access.

Therm-a-Rest’s new cot accessories line debuted at the European Outdoor Trade Fair in July 2014 and will be available in stores starting January 2015.
