GLEN MILLS, Pa., Oct. 23, 2014 -- Unequal® Technologies, a leading provider of customized sports protection, introduces the Unequal HALO, a protective headband designed for non-helmet team sports including soccer, women's lacrosse, field hockey, basketball and volleyball. The HALO uses Unequal's patented battle-grade composite fortified with Kevlar® and Accelleron® to absorb and disperse impact forces and provide 360-degree impact protection.
"The data from the CDC identifies soccer as one of the highest ranking sports for concussions, especially among young female athletes," said Erin Hanlon, Ph.D., director of Unequal's advanced composite lab.
FIFA Law 4 approved, the HALO is a contoured headband with a full coverage design that fits snugly around the head and is fully adjustable for a custom fit. The HALO is engineered with lightweight performance fabrics for breathability and comfort and is available in two thicknesses: 10 mm and 6 mm. Unequal currently offers 14 color options of the HALO.
Unequal manufactures protective sports gear for the head, body and sole. All Unequal head protection products use the patented Unequal composite with Acceleration Reduction Technology (ART) to reduce impact acceleration, which can help reduce the risk of injury.
Unequal CEO, Rob Vito, said, "More than three million young athletes play soccer across the United States. "The HALO was designed with soccer and other non-helmet sports in mind. It has been tested and shown to predict a lower risk of injury."
The Unequal HALO is available at Unequal.com and soccer specialty retailers across the country. The 10 mm HALO is priced at $39.99 and the 6 mm HALO is priced at $29.95.
