The F-BOM is powered by Abominable’s patented KLAIR™ technology. It works like the rear window in a car, and is also invisible and completely silent. A thin-film transparent heating system is placed in between the two-part lens and is powered by two small lithium-ion batteries. The heater works to keep the temperature just above dew point, which keeps fog away.
The F-BOM goggles feature a scratch-resistant, polycarbonate lens from Carl Zeiss to provide for clarity with zero distortions, as well as 100 percent protection from UVA, UVB and UVC rays. Using an innovative and intuitive system, the lens can be easily interchanged with red, yellow and dark tints for different light conditions.
Only 41 percent of overall Kickstarter campaigns succeed in reaching their fundraising goals, and in the technology category only 26.26 percent of campaigns are successfully funded.
ABOM will have a booth at the SIA tradeshow in January 2015 and ISPO in Munich, Germany in February 2015. Denver-based sales agency, The Sales Guys is setting up appointments with retailer buyers.
