Big Agnes Adds Six Key Staff to Support Future Growth, Hires Industry Vets Roina and Green

December 9, 2014 (STEAMBOAT SPRINGS, Colo.) – Big Agnes, a leading manufacturer of camping equipment and apparel, has hired six new employees to support growth fueled by new category launches and increased consumer demand. The company recently unveiled its mtnGLO™ Collection of tents and camp accessories featuring integrated LED lights as well as an expanded apparel collection and new camp chairs and cots from Helinox.

“Both Big Agnes and Helinox are on fire right now so we needed to grow our team,” says Bill Gamber, co-founder and president. “We’re excited to work with a couple of salty industry veterans who bring a wealth of experience as well as some talented, younger folks. These additions surely position us for the next level of growth.”

Wes Green, who worked as the merchandise and product development director at Eastern Mountain Sports joins Big Agnes as the brand manager for Helinox and Big Agnes sales support. The company’s new manufacturing and sourcing manager, Tony Roina, has over thirty years of experience at EMS where he most recently held the position of director of global manufacturing, quality assurance and compliance. Green and Roina will work closely with Gamber and product line manager Melissa Minter.

“I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to work with such a passionate group of folks in Steamboat and ski more Colorado powder,” states Green. “Years ago I skied from the summit of Big Agnes on a bluebird spring day with the Big Agnes crew and now it seems like a bit of manifest destiny to be working for the company.”

Big Agnes has also strengthened its marketing team with the addition of Rob Peterson and Rachel Daughenbaugh, who assume newly created roles as marketing specialist and marketing coordinator, respectively. They will help to promote the brand through events, promotions and a grassroots ambassador group. The company has also bolstered its industry-leading customer service team with the additions of Kristen Andrea and Kayt Gary, who join the staff as customer service rep and dealer services rep respectively.
