Arc'teryx Launches Entirely New Glove Collection // The Lithic Glove Leads the Way

With an eye toward materials that perform, designs that work and systems that mesh together, ARC’TERYX proudly introduces its next generation glove technology at the coming winter Outdoor Retailer show booth #1019. The new technology creates true hardshells for you hands, implementing 3-layer GORE-TEX® fabrics, fully taped seams, TPU grip, hydrophobic materials, and Tri-Dex patterning.

Building on its proven TriDex™ Glove Technology that forever changed the way waterproof gloves are constructed in 2010, ARC’TERYX once again evolves its glove collection with 25 new and redesigned styles that deliver unprecedented levels of hydrophobicity, durability, grip and dexterity. Every glove is individually tested and guaranteed to be 100% waterproof. Arc’teryx is the only company in the world creating 3-layer, fully-taped GORE-TEX gloves.

Leading the category, the new Lithic Glove (MSRP: $249) is constructed with motorcycle-grade GORE-TEX® N333p-X, an extremely durable and hydrophobic 333-denier nylon face fabric. This heavy-duty, yet pliant, textile completely eliminates loss of hand warmth and is impervious to any moisture absorption. Adding to the hydrophobicity of its N333p-X exterior, the fully-taped Lithic Glove forgoes traditional leather-palm construction, replacing it with sticky, laminated TPU (thermoplastic polyurethane) to create a new benchmark in waterproof grip. Laminated TPU grips add durability and provie additional protection from moisture and abrasion while enhancing grip.

 Utilizing mapped insulation, each glove in the new collection may use up to three kinds of PrimaLoft to allow for more flex or increased insulation in different zones of the hand. For best-in-class grip, many styles in the line have Primaloft®  with Grip Control Technology – a low-bulk insulation that bonds all of the components together to create one functioning layer, eliminating slippage between the layers and resisting compression.  This “fixed insulation” enhances grip strength and dexterity. The Lithic Glove incorporates our unique Grip Control Technology with two kinds of Primaloft on the back of the hand (133-g and 100g) and 100g PrimaLift Gold on the palm and fingers.

Fit is crucial to the functionality of any glove or mitten and the Lithic Glove utilizes ARC’TERYX’s proven Tri-Dex™ technology – the three-lobe finger pattern that maps the thumb and each finger separately according to the hand’s natural grasping motion. The result is dexterity that mimics the naked hand.
