ION Lt 12 and ION 10 join the award winning ION 12
Vancouver, B.C. (Jan. 12, 2015) – G3 is expanding its popular lightweight ION tech binding collection for 2015-16, adding two new bindings to the award-winning ION family. The ION LT 12 and the ION 10 join the popular ION 12, offering unparalleled performance, power, precision and intuitiveness, and targeting the unique needs of each type of backcountry skiing enthusiast.
“We know that today’s backcountry skiers use our products for many kinds of backcountry skiing situations, and they need bindings that are intuitive, predictable and reliable in all conditions,” said Oliver Steffen, Founder and President of G3. “With the ION binding family, we wanted to broaden the possibilities for backcountry travelers. G3 now offers an ION option for everyone, from skiers looking to get into the backcountry for the first time, to longtime backcountry enthusiasts who are counting grams and going deep into the mountains.”
All three ION bindings feature G3’s beautiful aesthetics combined with superior power transfer, energy absorption and exceptional retention. Whether you are a hard-charging freeride skier looking to lap the side country at your local resort, or an expedition skier exploring untouched peaks in the backcountry, the ION 12, ION 10 and ION LT 12 offer everything you need.
ION LT 12
– Based on the award-winning ION 12, the ION LT 12 offers the simplicity of a brakeless binding while maintaining the ION’s features and benefits in a sleek, lightweight package that weighs just 456 g per binding. The ION LT 12 is perfect for minimalists, gram counters and ski mountaineers, or those looking to pursue longer ski tours. G3’s designers simplified the BootStop step-in guide and the heel rest, trimming weight in both the toe and heel. The leash prevents runaway skis and stows neatly under the binding toe piece while you’re carrying your skis, traveling, or in terrain where you prefer not to use a leash. With predictable release values of 5-12, consistent heel pressure, a wide freeride mounting pattern, and durable, forged aluminum parts, the ION LT 12 is both a hard-charging backcountry binding and a minimalist skier’s dream. ION 10 / G3© |

The lower release value range makes it a great choice for lightweight and smaller skiers without sacrificing any of the award-winning qualities of the ION 12. The ION 10 features G3’s BootStop easy step-in guide, QuickFlick heel lifts, bi-directional heel, wide freeride mount, fully-retracting, powerful alpine style brakes and snow clearing channel. At just 585 grams per binding, they are perfect for lightweight and smaller skiers whether they are first time backcountry travelers or mountaineering veterans. MAP $499.95
