Icebreaker Merino, the pioneering New Zealand brand that introduced merino wool apparel to the outdoor industry, today announced BodyfitZONE™, a new premium base layer system that offers all the benefits of previous Icebreaker layering systems with performance enhanced features and a more athletic design elements. These base layers are more technical, versatile, and offer more multi-sport functionality than ever before.
The new styles represent an evolution from the previous BodyfitPLUS™ line, with BodyfitZONE™ pieces containing 200 gm jersey weight material with panels of 120 gm eyelet fabric. Bodyfit ZONE™ maps the appropriate fabric to the best place on the body, making it ideal for all season wear. While these pieces are more technical, they still offer all the benefits of previous merino layering systems: wicking away moisture from the body to maximize comfort, offering a smooth hand feel, and featuring an antimicrobial finish, which make the garments odor resistant. New key features include low profile seams for comfort and layering, multi-functional use as a base layer or first layer athletic top, eyelet panels for added breathability, bright colors for visibility, and thumb loops for added ease of movement and comfort.
