NEW YORK, NY--(January 05, 2015) - Keek, Inc. (TSX VENTURE: KEK) (OTCQX: KEEKF) announced today that it has been named the official social video app of Find Your Grind and Learn to Ride at Sundance Film Festival taking place on January 23-24th, 2015. Keek will be documenting the entire event, providing behind-the-scenes content in addition to sponsoring the Learn to Ride Sundance Contest where one lucky winner and a guest will win a 4-day VIP trip to Park City, Utah for the Sundance Film Festival. Key influencers and celebrities will be "keeking" their experiences on and off the slopes.
The Learn To Ride series is a true "bucket list" VIP event, allowing celebrities and media to pair up with professional snowboard athletes to "learn to ride" with the best! This premiere event at Sundance has been voted "most coveted" by Vanity Fair for four years and counting. Past celebrity attendees have included: Lil' Jon, Krysten Ritter, Kellan Lutz, Adrian Grenier and Alessandra. This year, for the first time ever, talented young adults and children battling chronic illnesses will hit the slopes in their newly gifted Oakley gear, receiving private lessons from pro snowboard athletes.
The Keek Learn to Ride Sundance Contest was designed to attract Winter-lovers and snowboard enthusiasts, alike. To enter, participants must download the Keek app and highlight their "hidden talent" in a 36 second video, hosted on http://contest.keek.com/sundance/. Users should be creative and demonstrate any skill from telling a joke, to performing a song or participating in their favorite sport! The top 100 videos submitted with the most number of social "likes" are eligible to win the Grand Prize trip. The Keek programming team will review each submission based on metrics and creativity. The winner will be announced on Keek.com on or before January 19th, 2015 at 11:59 pm ET.
Learn to Ride Sundance Veteran and Pro-Snowboarder, Luke "Dingo" Trembath, introduces the contest (https://www.keek.com/thedingoinsnow/keek/IqJpeab) and invites participants to enter by using the hashtag #LTRSundance in the video description and sharing the video on Keek, Facebook and Twitter to encourage friends to "like" the entry.
Keek CMO Lin Dai said: "Learn to Ride Sundance gives fans an opportunity to access this world renowned premier event by showing off their own special talents with other Keekers around the world. This partnership marks the first time that Keek has aligned with a world class sporting event and we know it will ignite further excitement for those amongst our 72 million global members who have a passion and interest in snowboarding, and action sports in general."
In addition to the Keek contest winner, Find Your Grind and Learn to Ride are sponsoring two families from the LA-based non-profit organization CoachArt, which provides arts and athletics opportunities to chronically ill children and their siblings ages 5-18. These families were selected based on age, an expressed interest in snowboarding and their ability to travel during their medical treatment. Families apply to CoachArt and its programs through hospitals and healthcare partners who refer families to the organization. There is a special focus on families who could not otherwise afford arts and athletics experiences (as all programs are completely free to families).
