Portland, OR (January 27, 2015) -- Salomon Snowboards is pleased to
present the all new Super8 Snowboard, inspired by team rider Wolle
Nyvelt's surfy style and Josh Dirksen's authoritative edge control, this
on-hill beast is loaded with power, speed and control at a price that
won't break the bank.
Oregon native Josh Dirksen's history is rooted in freestyle
snowboarding with an X Games medal and legendary video parts in
RobotFood, Mack Dawg and Kingpin Productions. After securing his place
as one of the most fun snowboarders to watch, Josh founded the Dirksen
Derby; a non-profit rally race to benefit Bend local Tyler Eklund. Over
the years, Josh's unmistakable style progressed to something more
accessible to the average rider; epic powder slashes and perfect edge
marks on groomers, with style and speed worth aspiring to.
The Super8 Snowboard is designed with Backseat
Camber, putting the power and control under your back foot, whether
you're ripping pow or laying down turns on hard pack. Featuring a new
shape for the perfect amount of floatation on a pow day, and Rocket
Science - a wider design for loose maneuverability. Surf's up boys. MSRP - $429.95
Long time team rider Josh Dirksen explains, "The Super8 is a mix of
all my favorite Salomon boards; it's the ideal cruising board. This is
the one I've always dreamed of."
The Super8 is a culmination of Josh's snowboarding; it's for the
rider with a background in freestyle, but who is now more interested in
low impact riding and throwing snow in the air with power and style.
"Josh Dirksen understands the ins and outs of snowboard construction
better than most engineers; what makes a snowboard fun to ride in
varying conditions and on all types of terrain. His ability to work on
concept, design, and testing is a huge asset, which allows us to bring a
board like the Super 8 to life; a board that really works. This is the
result of true rider driven design that benefits all types of
snowboarders." Kevin Stevenson, North American Marketing Manager.
