SALT LAKE CITY (Aug. 31, 2015) — Building on the best-in-class technology and design found in its lauded AVIP and Raceday cycling apparel lines, POC,
a leading manufacturer of skiing and cycling helmets, apparel and
accessories, announces its latest cycling collection, Fondo. Available
in Spring 2016, Fondo draws its inspiration from the unexplored
cobblestones and rolling vineyard roads of the world’s most beautiful
cycling locations.
“We incorporated all the experience and knowledge gained from AVIP, Raceday and working with professional cyclists, to create a range which represented more than just performance to enhance the riding experience of any rider,” says Oscar Huss, POC’s head of product development.
“The feedback from our partners has given us invaluable guidance and knowledge for design and manufacturing. Together we’ve researched fabric and panel combinations that have been carefully applied in the Fondo range to meet the needs of dedicated cyclists.”
In 2014, POC launched AVIP (Attention Visibility Interaction Protection) with an emphasis on safety, and followed it up this spring with Raceday, a line dedicated to performance and aerodynamics. Fondo incorporates the materials, technology and design that made AVIP and Raceday successful, while focusing on fit and comfort to embrace every cyclist’s passion for riding.
In today’s race-filled cycling calendar, fondos are more celebration than competition. POC used the passion and spirit of these celebrations as inspiration for the Fondo line, placing an emphasis on fit and comfort to enhance any rider’s pursuit of fondo glory. With design cues and location-specific colorways taken from iconic landmarks and imaginative landscapes the line honors four global cities: New York City; Havana, Cuba; Rio de Janeiro, Brazil; and Napa, California.
The Fondo range was launched at Eurobike and will consist of classic and light jerseys, bib shorts, wind and rain protection and accessories. POC will present Fondo for the first time in North America at Interbike, September 16-18 in Las Vegas, NV. For media appointments please contact patrick.king@backbonemedia.net.
