Business news : Eurosails Manufacturing acquired by Incidences sails

As a significant step forward in its approach of international expansion and consistent with its objective of integrating the Super Yachts market, the French sail maker has now signed the acquisition of Eurosails Manufacturing, which will now become Incidences Sails Super Yachts Palma. The operation began on 1 July 2012.

Sail making leader on the French market with a 12.5 million turnover, Incidences Sails is present in five sites in the hexagon. Primarily known in the world of offshore racing (Energy Team, Maxi Banque Populaire V) and yards, Incidences Sails is directed by Yannick Richomme, who became CEO less than a year ago. His primary objective is to internationalize and diversify the skills of the company, especially in order to integrate the demanding market of Super Yachts.

'Over the past year, we recruited several foreign agents to follow the international development strategy. To integrate the Super Yachts market, we must be able to provide a platform of services geographically attractive to owners and captains of Super Yachts. Palma is clearly 'the place to be' he explained.

Incidences Sails is, however, already present in the world of Super Yachts, equipping magnificent racing boats (Mari Cha IV, Moonbeam), and cruisers, such as Drumbeat or Atmosphere, a 174 feet cruise ship from the Perini Navi shipyards. 'We wish to capitalize on Incidences Sails presence on races frequented by these luxurious yachts, such as the Voiles de St Tropez, or the Giraglia Rolex Cup' says Yannick Richomme.

Located in Alaro, on the island of Majorca, Incidences Sails Super Yachts Palma comprises of ten employees on a 1600m² loft. Patrick Wetter, former owner of the loft, explains the advantages of this acquisition: 'Incidences Sails has just taken over an excellent facility with a highly skilled workforce who knows well the market for Super Yachts. The floor was custom built for this niche and Incidences Sails acknowledged that Palma is an established platform to meet these demanding customers.

Antoine Thuillier, which will now be responsible for the loft, has been working with me for the past two years as a business partner. He earned an excellent reputation on the island, is well respected and benefits from an excellent network. I'm sure he will do an excellent job! '

Holding a diploma in commerce from Angers, Antoine Thuillier has always been working in the sailing industry. Having perfected his experience with different French sail makers, including Incidences La Rochelle, he decided to join Palma seven years ago. Working alongside Patrick Wetter for two years, Antoine is now in charge of Incidences Sails Super Yachts Palma.

'My everyday tasks won’t really change: I will be in charge of the business aspects, the technical requirements, the management and especially the development of the brand internationally, particularly in the highly competitive market of Super Yachts. The island is very attractive to owners, first by its location in the middle of the Mediterranean, but also by the presence of many services dedicated to those boats. The market in Palma is very competitive and requires a personalized service. We need to be close to our customers to provide a quality service. Incidences Sails understood this and it will be my main task in this new project. I will be in constant contact with various people at Incidences: the sails will be designed by Cesar Dohy in La Rochelle, then Fred Charpail will define which loft will take charge of its realization. I will also work closely with Philippe Thouet, sales manager for tracking orders, our presence at trade shows and other commercial aspects related to my job. '
