Action sports accessory brand Dakine is moving to a new Hood River headquarters next spring.
Hood River-based developer Key Development Corp. on Friday said
Dakine has signed a lease to occupy half of the still-under
construction, 45,000-square-foot Parkside Lands building in the Port of
Hood River’s Waterfront Business Park.
Dakine will relocate from its current headquarters on Columbia Street
in downtown Hood River to the new Parkside Lands site at 603 Portway
Ave. next spring. Once the building is completed, Key Development will
transfer ownership to Parkside Lands LLC.
Key said it has worked with the Port of Hood River on the business
park plan since Oceober 2011 when it signed three development
agreements.
The business park also includes a new 46,000-square-foot processing plant for Turtle Island Foods that is nearing completion. Work to redevelop a former United Telephone Building was completed last month.
“Dakine is both a worldwide leader in the outdoor gear industry and an important local company with a long history of success,” Michael McElwee,
the Port of Hood River’s executive director, said in a news release.
“It is the ideal fit for the Hood River Waterfront, and we applaud the
public/private partnership that has retained Dakine in this community.”
