Quiksilver announced its expansion into the outdoor market with
a new range of apparel and camping equipment designed to awaken the
spirit of adventure that lives in everyone. The launch of the new
products will be rolled-out in two stages, with Quiksilver’s Outdoor
Range and global line, The
Quiksilver Watermans Collection becoming
available to consumers before Christmas.
In 2013, an extended line of sleeping bags, camping chairs, dome
tents, beach tends and other related camping accessories will also be
launched to market.
Staying true to the brand’s traditional style and surfing roots, the
Quiksilver outdoor Range has been designed with three consumers in mind:
surfers, youth and festival patrons.
“We researched and identified a huge opportunity in the outdoor
market,” said Quiksilver Australiasia General Manager, Garry Wall.
“Camping is still a very traditional category much like the snow was 25
years ago and we want to inject an attitude to match today’s consumers.”
With over 2.3 million surfers in Australia and thousands of young
Australians preparing for summer music festivals; Quiksilver hopes that
bringing authentic surf art, attitude and culture to camping will be a
point of difference for the youth market brand.
“We wanted to bring our SNA and innovation to the outdoors, much like
we did with boardshorts when the company was founded in the late 60’s,”
said Wall.
The Quiksilver Camping Range is designed for those who love to live
their life ‘out there’ and is being distributed exclusively through
quiksilver.com and outdoor/camping retailer, BCF.
