Retail store news ; Modell’s Opens News Stores in, Plainview, Bronx and Astor Place ( USA)

Modell’s Sporting Goods will celebrate the grand opening of three new stores in the coming days with locations in Plainview, The Bronx and Astor Place, bringing their total to 153 storefronts.  The Plainview Shopping Center store will open Thursday, November 15th on 391 Oyster Bay Road.  The Bronx store, located at 270 East Fordham Road and Astor Place, located at 740 Broadway will both open Saturday.

The ceremonial ribbon cutting for all 3 locations will take place on their respective mornings at 8am.  Along with the ribbon cuttings, all three locations will be running weekend long promotions.  In Plainview from Thursday through Sunday, the first 150 customers will receive a $25 Modell’s gift card, with the next 50 customers receiving a $10 card.  On Saturday, the Fordham and Astor Place stores will be running the same promotion.  Sunday, all three stores will be giving away “mystery gift cards” worth $25, $50 or $100 to the first 100 customers and $10 gift cards to the next 100 customers.

The Festivities will continue with appearances from Nets guard Tyshawn Taylor from 3-4pm in Plainview on Friday, and Knicks sharp shooter Steve Novak from 5-6pm at the Fordham store on Saturday.  All three locations will also be hosting hourly giveaways from Under Armour, Adidas, Nike, Mission and Everlast.
