For the first Reebok collection designed by Garbstore, London
Based designer Ian Paley uses as its main reference point, the unseen
elements of the original classics, the iconic shoes that attract the
heritage obsessed and vintage inspired, the dealers and the collectors,
the knowing detail inside a toe cap or under the insole that points to
the original production, whilst models often change their shape but not
their nature, the primary construction becomes the very essence of the
shoe, from an original Workout to a launch model Insta-Pump Fury to the
beloved Pump Running Dual.
The choice of materials used and the colour palette all reflect and
imagine the idea that this new collection has been made from the very
same factory shelves that store the original textiles, linings,
bladders, foam padding and linings that help point the consumer to the
origins of the shoe.
The unfamiliar vintage tone set for the collection will inspire
people to imagine that the shoes may have existed or at least been on
the drawing board or passing through the sample roam in the same company
and timeframe as the original.
Looking left and right of the original inside and out.
