NM4 Vultus ComicCon promotion receives two UK Direct Marketing Association awards

December 16th, 2014:

Honda Motor Europe is pleased to report that its promotional campaign for the NM4 Vultus has received two Gold awards from the UK’s Direct Marketing Association – in the “Automotive” and “Best use of Experiential” categories.

The NM4 Vultus – whose futuristic looks are inspired in no small measure by Japanese animation and manga – was first shown to the public at London’s ComicCon event in May, where visitors were able to experience a next generation computer-generated virtual reality film taking the rider through a “neo-Tokyo” cityscape using an Oculus headset. Honda R&D’s creators of the machine were also on hand to meet visitors and explain the concept behind the Vultus at first hand.

Dave Hancock, Head of Product Planning and Business Development, Honda Motor Europe:

“Showing the NM4 Vultus for the first time at ComicCon was something of a departure from the norm for us! The bike certainly got a lot of attention from the mainly young crowd at the show, and as Honda we really need to keep trying to attract youngsters away from the 2D virtual worlds of their computer screens to the real and unique 3D experiences they can have on a motorcycle.

After the launch, sales of the Vultus have had a good start, hitting all our sales targets. I think people naturally expected the high level of comfort and ease of use provided by  the ultra-low seat, flip-up back rest and DCT gearbox, but what has surprised many experienced motorcyclists has been the way it handles – really agile and lively. So it’s a fun bike to ride, as well as being one that people will cross the street to look at, generally with a smile on their face.”
