LAKE SUCCESS, N.Y., Jan. 5, 2015 -- Today, Polar the leading pioneer of heart rate monitors and wearable sports devices for fitness enthusiasts and athletes introduced its latest product, the Polar A300 at the 2015 International Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, Nevada. The A300 combines the most accurate heart rate monitoring technology with 24/7 activity tracking to create a new standard for fitness tracking devices. Polar is the originator of fitness focused wearable technology having created the first wireless heart rate monitor (HRM) back in 1977. Now, Polar turns their years of research and expertise in this field into a keen understanding of sports science and an array of Smart Coaching features, all of which are packed into the A300. These features help guide new and experienced athletes alike to meet their fitness goals faster and more efficiently.

Designed for workouts and everyday use, the lightweight A300 looks and feels great. Interchangeable silicon wristbands in black, white, pink, blue, grey and yellow can be purchased separately and easily swapped to match any occasion. Further enhancing the unit's everyday convenience, the A300 is waterproof for showering and even swimming (WR30).

"The Polar A300 is built for people who want to become fit or stay fit. We're excited about the way in which the A300 seamlessly blends cutting-edge fitness technology with style," said Herb Baer, President, Polar USA. "Fitness enthusiasts who want activity tracking, the most accurate heart rate training guidance and a great looking watch will love this innovative wearable sports device."

When worn together with the Polar H7 heart rate sensor, the A300 gives detailed insight into heart rate based training through an array of research and sports science based Smart Coaching features. The A300 Smart Coaching features turn personal workout data into fitness-improving feedback. The unit's on-screen display allows users to receive this training guidance in real-time motivating athletes to push their body to healthy limits.

The A300 automatically measures calories burned, daily activity including steps taken and distance traveled, as well as restful vs. restless sleep. Inactivity alerts, displayed right on the wrist unit and through vibrations, remind users to move around and stay active. Bluetooth Smart technology allows the A300 to sync with the Polar H7 as well as the Polar Flow mobile app and web service. Through the Polar Flow app and web service, daily activity reports and training summaries can easily be shared with friends and coaches.

Availability

The Polar A300 will be available this February for $139.95 or for $179.95 when purchased with the H7 heart rate sensor. Interchangeable wrist bands are available in white, black, pink, blue, grey or yellow for $24.95. The A300 will be available at leading national sporting goods and electronics retailers, local specialty stores and online.
