New product : Honey Stinger announces the latest addition to its Stinger Waffle lineup—Lemon.
STEAMBOAT SPRINGS, Colo.—Honey Stinger announces the latest addition to its Stinger Waffle lineup—Lemon. Originally conceived by Honey Stinger co-owner Lance Armstrong, Stinger Waffles are now available in honey, vanilla, strawberry, chocolate and lemon flavors, each individually wrapped waffle providing 160 calories of organic energy.
The traditional stroopwafel, which originated in the Netherlands over 200 years ago, is made from two thin layers of baked batter with syrup filling. In the Netherlands and Belgium, stroopwafels are sold in the streets and are popular with European cyclists looking for a quick boost of energy. Rather than syrup, the Stinger Waffle uses organic honey and other organic ingredients, making them a certified USDA Organic product. Each waffle is wrapped individually, and the Lemon Stinger Waffle is now shipping to specialty running, cycling, outdoor and natural foods retailers nationwide.
In other company news, Honey Stinger releases a new line of three organic energy gels. The new gels are available in vanilla, fruit smoothie and acai pomegranate flavors, each USDA-certified organic. NSF International compliance is pending for all. “Our new gels were developed with feedback and input from many of our sponsored athletes and teams and have already helped fuel some of them in competition,” states Bill Gamber, Honey Stinger co-founder.
With a blend of organic tapioca syrup, organic honey and electrolytes, Honey Stinger organic gels offer a different texture and taste from the company’s original classic gels. In addition to the new flavor varieties, Honey Stinger will continue to sell its classic gel offerings.
