A+A 2015: Sympatex to present recycled and recyclable laminates for corporate wear and workwear

Footwear customers prefer Moisture-tech® by Sympatex for the safety shoe sector

Munich / Unterföhring, 9th September 2015 – At the A+A 2015 trade fair in Düsseldorf (27th to 30th October 2015), Sympatex Technologies will present modular functional garment systems for the corporate wear and workwear sector. The ecological alternative among functional textile specialists has added new laminates made of recycled and recyclable PES materials to the portfolio. The highlight of the business area “Footwear” is the innovative technology Moisture-tech® by Sympatex, which has been increasingly used for safety shoes. At the trade fair booth (hall 11, booth A22), Sympatex will exhibit partner products from various fields of application.

In the sectors Corporate Wear and Workwear, Sympatex offers an extensive modular garment system for individual protection and comfort from head to toe. Depending on climate conditions and fields of application, different laminates and inserts are intelligently combined in regard to their qualities. Aside from rain jackets and soft shell jackets as well as pants for ideal weather protection, Sympatex also offers fleece products for additional heat insulation. Headgear, gloves as well as safety and work shoes complete the protective gear.

Recycled PES outer layers with “Global Recycle Standard” certificate

In the Corporate Wear sector, Sympatex customers like ÖBB (Austrian Federal Railways), RATP (public transport in Paris), ÜSTRA (public transport in Hannover) and the Modeinstitut Berlin (corporate fashion) now prefer eco-friendly fabrics that also offer a high level of protection and comfort. For this purpose, the functional specialist provides 2-layer and 3-layer laminates made of recycled PES in its portfolio. The material basis of these laminates is a yarn that is produced from recycled PET bottles. To do this, Sympatex cooperates with the Italian yarn specialist Miroglio whose trademark “New Life” is certified according to the internationally renowned “Global Recycle Standard”.

“In combination with our 100% waterproof and windproof as well as optimally breathable Sympatex membrane, the recycled PES outer layers offer a top performance. They are ideal for all customer demands in the weather protection sector and on the same high level as newly produced PES materials. Highest functionality and warning colours in the workwear sector

A high level of functionality is crucial in the workwear sector, depending on the extraordinary physiological requirements in the respective field of application. Multi-layer functional materials offer protection from overheating or cooling, and they also optimise the moisture transport away from the body, thus creating an ideal body climate and a barrier against viruses and bacteria. In addition to this, warning colours according to ISO EN20371 are often in particular demand. The customer Pfanner, a leading Austrian supplier of forest protection clothing, has chosen the colours bright yellow and bright red, for example, to increase visibility during forestry work.

Maximum comfort in safety shoes due to “Moisture-tech® by Sympatex”

In the business area “Footwear”, the technology “Moisture-tech® by Sympatex” has become very popular. After a successful launch with the Sympatex partners Mascot, Baltes, Rock Fall, Wojas and Honeywell, the brands Bläkläder, Maxguard and Völkl now also use this patented technology. Due to the extremely absorbent material, moisture is quickly transported away from the foot and is kept away from the lining by an outward suction effect. Performance Sports Group Announces Resolution Regarding Cascade R Lacrosse Helmet

EXETER, NH--(Dec 12, 2014) - Performance Lacrosse Group Inc. (the "Company"), a subsidiary of Performance Sports Group Ltd. ("PSG") (NYSE: PSG) (TSX: PSG), a leading developer and manufacturer of high performance sports equipment and apparel, has reached an agreement with the National Operating Committee on Standards for Athletic Equipment (NOCSAE) on a solution for the recently decertified Cascade R helmet.

NOCSAE has accepted a solution that will involve a simple modification to Cascade R helmets currently in the marketplace. Cascade's data confirms the helmet, as modified by this solution, meets NOCSAE certification standards. Cascade will make the modification to existing helmets at its Liverpool, N.Y. facility beginning December 16. The modification will be free of charge for consumers and retailers, including related shipping costs.

The Cascade R helmet launched in June 2013 and approximately 110,000 units have been sold into the market. The Company estimates that the cost of modifying existing Cascade R helmets is between $2-4 million.

Cascade is currently conducting a third-party audit of its quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) processes and expects the audit to be completed by December 18. NOCSAE will partially reinstate Cascade's license agreement for the production of new Cascade R helmets upon demonstration of satisfactory audit results. These helmets will be designated as Cascade R-M helmets for NOCSAE certification purposes but marketed and sold as Cascade R helmets.

The license agreement will be fully restored to allow for the resumed production of all other Cascade models upon demonstrating that such models certified by Cascade are supported by necessary testing data. Cascade is currently reviewing test results for all of its lacrosse helmets to ensure they meet both Cascade and NOCSAE standards.

PSG will provide further updates in relation to this matter as appropriate.

Performance Sports Group Addresses Pending NOCSAE Lacrosse Notification

EXETER, NH--(Nov 24, 2014) - Performance Lacrosse Group Inc. (the "Company"), a subsidiary of Performance Sports Group Ltd. ("PSG") (NYSE: PSG) (TSX: PSG), a leading developer and manufacturer of high performance sports equipment and apparel, has received notification that the National Operating Committee on Standards for Athletic Equipment (NOCSAE) will announce today that the Cascade R model lacrosse helmet no longer complies with NOCSAE standard ND041 and that Cascade's certification of compliance on that helmet model only is now invalid.

The Company is working with NOCSAE to clarify the concerns and appropriately address the issue. The Company's first priority is always to its loyal Cascade customers. However, it is important to note that the Cascade R model has passed applicable NOCSAE standards at two separate, independent, NOCSAE-accredited test labs commissioned by the Company.

RadiciGroup certifies its r-Radyarn® and r-Starlight® yarns to UNI 11505.

23 september 2014 -RadiciGroup companies Noyfil SA and Noyfil SpA – among the European leaders in the manufacture of a wide range of polyester yarn – have chosen the highest level of transparency and clarity by adopting the UNI 11505:2013 standard for measuring and declaring the recycled material content of their r-Radyarn® and r‑Starlight® reduced environmental impact yarn made from post-consumer recycled polyester bottles. This standard refers to the recycled material content in man-made fibres.

The UNI 11505 standard, which became effective as of September 2013, is concerned with yarn and man-made fibres manufactured with secondary raw materials obtained from the processing of recycled materials through a mechanical or chemical transformation process. More specifically, the standard sets out the characteristics to be disclosed in the manufacturer’s product declaration concerning recycled material content, as well as the information to be reported on product labels in addition to the product composition information required by law. The UNI standard also specifies the management and monitoring requirements an organization must meet in order to comply with said standard.

Now that r-Radyarn® and r-Starlight® yarns are certified to UNI 11505, Noyfil SA and Noyfil SpA are in a position to provide more information with more detail on recyclate content. For each of the certified yarns, the companies will now indicate the exact percentage of recycled polymer together with the percentage of additives.

Products certification : Xenith Responds to Institute of Medicine (IOM) Report

Xenith, the helmet maker, responded to a recent report from  the Institute of Medicine that found that high school football players are nearly twice as likely to get concussions as college football players and high school athletes in other sports. Xenith applauded the researcher's efforts and stated its view that the way to reduce concussions "not only focuses on equipment, but also changing and enhancing how the game of football is played."

The Institute of Medicine found that high school football players sustained 11.2 concussions per 10,000 games and practices, well above the 6.9 concussions sustained by lacrosse players, according to data reported by high school athletic trainers. College football players received 6.3 concussions per 10,000 games and practices, according to a separate study reviewed by medical experts. The study also showed that as many as 20 percent of athletes who get a concussion have symptoms that linger more than two weeks.

New products : Oboz Welcomes Fall 2013 Hiking and Weather with Waterproof Footwear

Oboz adds two new midcut waterproof light hiking boots to its line for Fall 2013, just in time for fall and all the weather and trail conditions the season can bring – early snow, rain or, if luck would have it, an Indian summer. These light boots offer support and stability, trustworthy traction on the trail, and comfort with durability built to last.

The men’s Rimrock Mid BDry and the women’s Nova Mid BDry share some common features.  Both are waterproof and breathable, using Oboz’ proprietary BDry lining that keeps feet dry.  Hydrophobic board-lasted construction is durable and more supportive for carrying loads. They share Oboz’ newest outsole and midsole technology—called Granite Peak—an agile, light but trail worthy undercarriage that debuts in Spring 2013 in four new styles.  Finally, like all Oboz footwear, the new models come with what Oboz believes is the best quality insole included in outdoor footwear—the BFit Deluxe footbed. Its sculpted design is made of EVA resin to maintain its shape, center the foot and support the arch. Urethane foam pods cushion the heel and forefoot, and perforations and channels below promote airflow and breathability.

The men’s Rimrock Mid BDry blends waterproof Nubuck leather overlays with abrasion-resistant mesh textile.  A rubberized TPU external heel counter lends stability to the back of the foot. At the ankle, Oboz makes it easy to secure the fit of the heel with its webbing-enhanced lacing system.  One cinch of the webbing strap helps seat the heel into the boot and also lends a bit of support at the ankle.

For women, the Nova Mid BDry gets an open-weave mesh that promotes added breathability of this waterproof shoe.   Nubuck leather overlays anchor the lacing system, and a toe cap and mudguard—also of Nubuck leather—fend off all the hazards of the trail and give added durability.

Common to the Rimrock Mid and Nova is Oboz’ Granite Peak outsole and midsole package also featured in the company's newest spring styles. The Granite Peak design features a cushioning dual density EVA midsole and a shank, complemented by a TPU chassis which is sandwiched between the midsole and outsole.  The chassis spans the arch, heel and ball of the foot, giving torsional structure that supports, stabilizes and protects the foot. The carbon rubber outsole has large-surfaced, 4 millimeter deep traction and braking lugs for superior performance and exceptional comfort underfoot when the going gets rough.

The AIR JORDAN XX8 boasts an ultra-modern stealth design for elite performance including more technological advances than any AIR JORDAN to date.
