Business news : Correct Craft subsidiary opens Miami Watersports Complex

An Orlando-based watersports complex is riding a wave of expansion into South Florida.

Aktion Parks, a subsidiary of Orlando-based Correct Craft and owner and operator of the Orlando Watersports Complex, announced Monday it will open the Miami Watersports Complex in 2014.

The 90-acre fresh water lake sports complex will include two full-size cables so riders can experience a variety of watersports including wakeboarding, wakesurfing and more.

“We are excited to expand our cable park investments,” said Correct Craft President/CEO Bill Yeargin. “Miami Watersports Complex, in addition to our other park, Orlando Watersports Complex, is just the beginning of our plans to build more parks and introduce many more people all over the world to the watersports we love.”

In addition to the new watersports park, which may mean additional jobs and watersports-related events in the Miami area, Yeargin told Orlando Business Journal last week that Nautique Boat Co. Inc., which is also owned by Correct Craft, will be adding up to 50 new employees in the spring.
