New Beijing Converse Rubber Tracks pop-up studio offers local creative community free workshops & recording opportunities.
Today, Converse Inc. announces the launch of its first-ever Beijing Converse Rubber Tracks pop-up
studio where local musicians will have the opportunity to apply for one
of 10 spots to record for free, from Friday, November 29 through
Sunday, December 8. Converse will also host a series of workshops at
the pop-up studio location, allowing music lovers to interact with a
panel of renowned guest speakers from the worlds of music and art. The
10-day experience will culminate with Converse Rubber Tracks Live free concert at the Mako Live House on Saturday, December 7.
“We’re excited to continue to give back to the global music community
and to extend the Converse Rubber Tracks experience to China for the
very first time,” said Geoff Cottrill, Converse Chief Marketing Officer.
“We’re thrilled to connect deeper with the rich and diverse artistic
culture in Beijing and to help local emerging musicians showcase their
creativity and craft within this inspiring scene.
The Converse Rubber Tracks program was born out of the brand’s desire
to give back to the music community and provide a platform for emerging
artists to express their creativity. Since the studio opened in
Brooklyn in July 2011, Converse has provided over 500 emerging acts the
chance to record for free and has brought the Converse Rubber Tracks
experience to great music cities such as Toronto, Austin, Montreal, Los
Angeles, San Francisco, Amsterdam and Hamburg, Mexico City, now hitting
Beijing for the first time.
