First Live Video Streaming Technology myplayXplay Arrives for Sports; Coaches Make Instant On-the-Field Decisions With Mobile Devices

myplayXplay, First Live Streaming for Video Analysis Delivers Competitive Advantage for Any Arena and Large Venue-Based Professional or College Sports

ONTARIO, CANADA--( Feb 19, 2014) - Welcome news for coaches nail-biting their way through this intense season of competition and playoff games is a revolutionary new product called myplayXplay™ (my-play-by-play) that combines advanced live-streaming video technology with easy-to-use mobile devices.

Already being utilized by beta customers such as the National Hockey League, Irish Rugby Football Union and other professional and college hockey and premier league soccer organizations, myplayXplay enables coaches, sports and medical staff to use iPads to review and interact with a game on video as it happens live.

In Europe, myplayXplay is in trials with the Irish Rugby Football Union (IRFU). The IRFU is using the solution to its advantage as the team plays in the RBS 6 Nations Rugby Championship. The product is also proving to be a game changer for North American hockey programs.

"As a coach, I have always used video technologies in one form or another for play review," said David Manning assistant athletic director of Ontario, Canada's, St. Andrew's College (SAC). "Most have been adequate, almost all have been difficult to use. Investing in myplayXplay has been a leap in video technology for me as a coach at SAC. It is quite possibly the most innovative piece of software and video workflow to come to hockey and team sports for a very long time."

"Live game analysis has been waiting for exceptional, tablet-based software to arrive," said Mervyn Murphy, performance analyst of the national Irish rugby team. "myplayXplay is without a doubt destined to become a vital tool to support proactive coaching efforts. For Ireland during the RBS 6 Nations Championship, using myplayXplay's technology gives us an extra advantage over other teams."

myplayXplay takes any video -- from a broadcaster's camera feed all the way down to feeds from consumer-grade cameras -- and enables instantaneous review, video tagging and the ability to add comments and send clips instantly via email, save to Dropbox, save locally to an iPad® for later review or even post to Facebook. The product is very easy to use, utilizing the same touch, tap and swipe gestures found on smartphones and tablets.

Competing with myplayXplay are the commonly used static, desk-based systems hardwired to the sideline areas of a stadium and arena venues. These complicated products must be operated by trained technicians who spend hours and sometimes days to edit and pass on clips. Meanwhile, myplayXplay requires almost no training and works instantly.

"We took the best practices from the broadcasting paradigm and moved them over to the flexible world of streaming video and the popular world of mobile," explained Ivan Reel, CTO of myplayXplay.

"Our product makes video analysis and sending clips as easy as sending a text message or email on your smartphone."
