During the last Standing Committee of the Regional Council of Poitou-Charentes, held in Poitiers on 13 September, regional councilors have studied various local industrial issues, such as the manufacturer of sailboats Dufour Yachts.
Full renegotiation of its debt and while some investors decided to pull out, the management is working on a "New Co" whose implementation would involve a lease back the buildings of La Rochelle and a bank loan. In parallel, the company has requested special assistance of the order of one million euros to the government, pledging to maintain local employment.
In this context, while the company employs 430 direct and 400 indirect employees, elected officials have voted an exceptional grant of 1 million euros for the manufacturer of sailing yachts based in Périgny.
A clear commitment to support local boating industry, whose economic weight is particularly important in the region. As such, the same standing committee has decided to support the Pole Refit La Rochelle, with a grant of € 25,000.
