Golden, CO (April 21, 2014)—Mountainsmith, craftsmen of iconic backcountry equipment and recreational outdoor gear, announced the addition of Jacob Stein to its design team as the newest Design Assistant for both Mountainsmith and sister company Carry Gear Solutions. Stein brings a strong background in industrial design that combines the principles of innovation, sustainability, and enthusiasm for outdoor adventure rooted in real-world experience.
“We’re really excited to have Jacob join the team,” said Mountainsmith Design Lead & Production Line Manager, Luke Boldman. “As an avid outdoorsman, he gets the brand and what we aim to do here. His design approach is inline with Mountainsmith’s—solution-oriented, clean, and practical. We look forward to seeing what he brings to the table.”
Stein will assist in all facets of design from product to POP to marketing and sales collateral. He holds a degree in Industrial Design from the Metropolitan State University of Denver and a B.A. in Environmental Science from the University of Denver. His past experience includes time at ENFOQUE Design, INC, and Timbuk2 Designs.
“I’m really happy to be signing on with Mountainsmith and Carry Gear,” said Stein. “I moved to Colorado nearly 12 years ago to be closer to the mountains and am so excited to be designing product that will help people enjoy everything the outdoors have to offer. I’m also looking forward to the opportunity to work on a variety of projects with Carry Gear Solution’s clients. It’s an incredible opportunity to hone a multitude of skills with a renowned outdoor team.”
Stein’s outdoor experience extends back to his early childhood and time as a Boy Scout. He is an active cyclist, fly fisherman, hiker, runner, snowboarder, and backpacker. He will begin working with Mountainsmith and Carry Gear Solutions in April 2014.
