The store offers customers an unrivaled golf retail experience in Richmond’s thriving Short Pump area – located in the heart of Richmond’s West End with close proximity to dozens of top area golf courses.
Featuring a massive selection of the best brands in golf and a high-tech, interactive environment, the new Golfsmith Short Pump location (2000 Old Brick Road, Glen Allen) has something to offer golfers of all skill levels. It includes four club fitting studios with simulators that enable customers to test drive the latest clubs and see ball flight statistics with the same launch monitor technology used to fit tour pros. The store also has an indoor putting green, technology bar with GPS units and other high-tech gadgets, and GolfTEC improvement center with PGA teaching professionals and certified master club fitters.
The store opening is part of the company’s aggressive growth strategy in Virginia – adding to Golfsmith’s five Northern Virginia locations in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area.

Grand Opening Blowout
A Grand Opening Celebration will be held at the Golfsmith Short Pump location Thursday, May 8 through Saturday, May 10 with a number of exciting activities including Hank Haney instructional clinics, $10,000 in giveaways, all-day contests and door-buster deals, and demo events featuring TaylorMade’s SLDR lineup and Callaway’s Big Bertha driver.
- Thursday, May 8 – TaylorMade Thursday will feature contests all day for the latest TaylorMade merchandise, and the first 100 customers in the store will receive a gift. Contests include putting, guess your drive, and shot accuracy challenges to win great TaylorMade products!
- Friday, May 9 – The first 200 customers in the store will receive a gift with additional contests all day; also golfers should arrive early to register for a $1,000 shopping spree – doors open at 8:00 a.m. with the drawing at 9:15 a.m. There will also be free GolfTEC clinics all afternoon with a swing evaluation raffle.
- Saturday, May 10 – Renowned instructor Hank Haney will be broadcasting his new SiriusXM radio show live from the store at 10 a.m. and hosting two clinics – full swing and short game – immediately after starting at 11 a.m. Both clinics are open to the public and attendees can register for a chance to win a ten-minute lesson with Hank as well as a Cobra iron set. Representatives from Callaway will also be on hand to discuss the latest technology and offer test-drives with the all-new Big Bertha driver!
