The League of American Bicyclists recognized KEEN with a Gold-Level
Bicycle Friendly Business award. With the announcement of 150 new and
renewing Bike Friendly Businesses today in 39 states and Washington,
D.C., KEEN joins a visionary group of more than 800 local businesses,
government agencies and Fortune 500 companies across the United States
that are helping to transform the American workplace.
“Visionary business leaders are recognizing the real-time and
long-term impact that a culture of bicycling can create,” said Andy
Clarke, President of the League of American Bicyclists. “We applaud this
new round of businesses for investing in a more sustainable future for
the country and a healthier future for their employees.”
KEEN encourages bicycling as an easy option for transportation and
provides amenities such as a secure storage area for bikes, locker rooms
and showers, complimentary bike tune-ups, buddy rides, discounted gear,
bike safety workshops. The company also offers incentives such as
KEEN’s annual Bike Commute Challenge with weekly prizes, recognition,
and a celebration with a grand raffle prize of a new bike.larke,
President of the League of American Bicyclists. “We applaud this new
round of businesses for investing in a more sustainable future for the
country and a healthier future for their employees.”
“The KEEN headquarters and KEEN Garage retail store are located in
the heart of Portland, Oregon, one of the most bike-friendly cities in
the world,” said Chris Enlow, Corporate Social Responsibility Manager at
KEEN. “The KEEN employees that are committed to two-wheeled commuting
exemplify our company’s promise to build healthy communities and a
healthier planet.”
Moving forward, KEEN will have access to a variety of free tools and
technical assistance from the League to become even more
bicycle-friendly. When KEEN employees bike, great things happen: a fun
and healthy work culture, passion for alternative commuting, and good
for the environment.
