Latest Innovation Leverages Proprietary Technology to Increase Hitting Surface and Improve 'Sweet Spot' up to 40 Percent
PHOENIX, AZ--(Mar 19, 2015) - Combat, a leading developer, designer and manufacturer of elite baseball and softball bats and apparel, today unveiled COMBAT MAXUM to its top retail partners. A revolutionary line of bats, COMBAT MAXUM utilizes proprietary Precision Molded Seamless Construction to extend the length of the barrel without sacrificing weight, balance or feel. As a result, COMBAT MAXUM creates a hitting surface and 'sweet spot' up to 40 percent larger than competitor bats, allowing hitters to make better contact more often.
"When it comes to hitting surface, we already had a strong leadership position with our full line of baseball and softball bats," said Stephen Fitzgerald, Senior Director of Engineering, Combat. "Always looking to make our products better and work harder for players, we challenged ourselves to push even further and COMBAT MAXUM is the result. Our technology is so different from other manufacturers because of our proprietary Precision Molded Seamless Construction, which allows us to elongate the barrel without adding weight, swing weight or sacrificing durability."
The COMBAT MAXUM line uses multiple thinner layers of composite materials to increase durability, reduce the swing weight and extend the barrel length. Unlike most bats, which consist of rolled sheet materials with seams in each layer, COMBAT MAXUM bats are made using seamless fiber pre-forms that extend all the way around and along the barrel. By combining these thinner, seamless layers of carbon with fiberglass, Combat engineers are able to create lighter, longer and more durable bats without compromising swing weight.
In addition to unveiling COMBAT MAXUM and its industry-leading technology to its retail partners, Combat also announced a comprehensive marketing campaign to support the April launch of COMBAT MAXUM.
"With COMBAT MAXUM bats built and now shipping to our retail partners, we have also added a fully integrated sales and marketing plan to support what we truly believe is game-changing bat technology," said Don Cooper, Director of Sales and Marketing, Combat. "We have ramped up our COMBAT MAXUM product demonstrations and developed an aggressive integrated marketing campaign to back it all up. The product demonstrations, which will be held throughout the country, will provide consumers and retailers an opportunity to experience COMBAT MAXUM first-hand and see the benefit for themselves. Our 360-degree marketing campaign will integrate digital, social media, retail assets and many other tactics to help educate consumers about COMBAT MAXUM."
The COMBAT MAXUM baseball line will be available in mid-April at retailers throughout the country. COMBAT MAXUM slowpitch and fastpitch softball bats will be available at retail this fall. The COMBAT MAXUM will be available for virtually all levels of play from T-Ball to Adult BBCOR with suggested prices ranging from $49.99 to $449.99.
