AUSTIN, Texas--On May 28th, the Austin Technology Council (ATC) will welcome top technology CEOs and thought leaders from Central Texas and around the country to the annual ATC CEO Summit. This year’s event will conclude with the first-hand story of how Under Armour CEO Kevin Plank took a personal mission to create a high performance sports shirt and ultimately redefined athletic wear. A technology company from the beginning, Under Armour is a global innovator in providing the footwear, apparel and equipment needed to perform, which now includes an arsenal of digital tools to help empower athletes worldwide. The Under Armour Connected Fitness platform, headquartered in Austin, powers the world’s largest digital health and fitness community through a suite of applications: UA Record, MapMyFitness, Endomondo, and MyFitnessPal.
Norton Rose Fulbright returns as the presenting sponsor of the all-day event. Now in its fifth year, the CEO Summit brings together over 200 technology leaders for exclusive conversations and forward-thinking discussions on tech’s top challenges and opportunities. In addition to Plank’s keynote, this year’s event features an impressive line up of speakers including Jeremiah Owyang, Crowd Companies, Adam Marcus, OpenView, Richard Wells, Insight Venture Partners, Jim Armstrong, March Capital Partners, Edward Liu, Morgan Stanley, Hugh Forrest, SXSW.
“Austin has a collaborative spirit and that value is driven from the top down in the technology and life sciences industries here. This gathering of our greatest minds, with the added perspective of thought leaders from other markets, is a powerful example of the way we do business in Central Texas. I’m thrilled to be surrounded by key decision-makers who are passionate about moving the needle forward in Texas and beyond,” said Julie Huls, CEO ATC.
In addition to these strong speakers, four of the most promising local startups will compete in the Startup Showdown, providing attendees with an up-close look at the some of the fastest rising companies contributing to the Austin tech ecosystem. Previous winners Toopher (2012) and RideScout (2013) will also address the audience. This year’s startups include:
- Loop and Tie, representing Capital Factory
- Experiment Engine, representing Techstars
- vThreat, representing The Bunker
- TBD, representing ATI
