The Core77 Design Awards recognize excellence in all areas of design enterprise and celebrate the richness of the design profession and brilliance of its practitioners. The honored designers and projects, including the Burley Solstice, were selected by 14 category-dedicated juries for their innovation and creativity.
The new Burley Solstice is the perfect blend of style and function that enables parents to share their passion for the outdoors with the newest addition to the family. Like all Burley products, the Solstice is built with thoughtful design, innovative safety and rugged durability in mind.
The five-person jury noted the Solstice for its innovative and “clever solutions” such as one-handed folding technology and S.I.T.TM (spring-integrated technology) seat, which is incorporated into the harness to make it easier to load and unload a child. Said one juror, “I think it’s fantastic…In terms of function it’s definitely a step ahead of where its competitors are today.”
“We are extremely pleased our new Solstice jogging stroller continues to gain acknowledgement in the design community,” said Burley CEO Michael Coughlin. “Our talented product team really thought through what was lacking in the market in terms of functionality and came up with a pretty unique solution. We are committed to raising the bar when it comes to innovative design in outdoor recreational transport gear for the whole family.”
This is the third award Burley has received since making its entry into the stroller market. Earlier this year, the company announced the Solstice had been awarded two prestigious European awards for excellence in design — the iF Design Award and Red Dot Award.

The Solstice will continue to be featured in the iF design app, which the iF organization describes as “a source of inspiration, an archive, a guide to and a mirror of contemporary design” and is available in the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. The stroller will also be featured in one of three subsequent special shows in the iF design exhibition in Hamburg–a permanent exhibition located in the very center of Hamburg’s HafenCity.
