2014 has been a big year for Darby Communications - we added two incredible new clients to our roster, we expanded our team to 6 full-time staff members, and we welcomed our tiniest addition Darby Comm family with the birth of Mandy's sweet baby boy, Drew, in March.
Summer is going to bring us even more excitement, as we are thrilled to announce the opening of our first official satellite office in New York City! That's right, folks, Darby Comm is coming to the Big Apple!
During our 10 years here in Asheville, we've worked incredibly hard to build and maintain strong working relationships with the many outdoor recreation, wellness, and lifestyle editors in the New York City area. Coral, Mandy, and Angie have made fantastic media connections during their bi-yearly NYC media trips.
Back in the Asheville office, we work year-round to uphold and foster those relationships by keeping our contacts constantly in the loop regarding client news, events, and product releases. The addition of a full-time New York City office will allow us to establish more frequent communication with these contacts and will bring increased opportunities for large-scale editorial exposure and event presence for our clients.
We are also excited to announce that our very own Jordan Reed will be managing the new satellite location. During her 2 years at Darby Comm, Jordan has been absolutely pivotal in making sure that our clients remain on the forefront of the ever-changing media landscape. Jordan is an expert at coming up with new and exciting ways to enhance our not only our clients', but Darby Comm's online and social media communities. As head of the New York office, Jordan will continue to manage the agency’s social media platforms, while also fielding media appointments and representing our clients at NYC-area industry events.
Although we couldn't be more excited for this new opportunity, we were incredibly sad to have to say goodbye to Jordan, and we miss her smiling face, her positive attitude, and her impeccably well-timed jokes in the office.
Nonetheless, we have oodles of confidence in Jordan's ability to run the NYC office, and we know that the Big Apple has some awesome things in store for her! Meanwhile, we look forward to our weekly Monday morning office skype sessions, where we get to catch up with Jordan and plan our week as a team while drinking copious amounts of coffee.
The addition of the NYC satellite office will no doubt bring lots of new and exciting experiences for the Darby Comm team. We are so very excited for this next chapter in our story, and so thankful that we can all embark on this journey together. Until next time!
