Descente, the Japanese snowsports apparel company, reported sales for
the fiscal second quarter ended Sept. 30 increased 11.3 percent to
¥26.1 billion ($332 mm) from ¥23.5 billion ($302 mm) in the year-ago
period.
Gross margins improved 60 basis points to 51.0 percent of sales for
the quarter, compared to 50.4 percent of sales in fiscal Q2 last year.
SG&A spending increased 30 basis points to 40.5 percent of sales.
Net income rose 28.3 percent to ¥1.85 billion ($24 mm).
