After working with brands such as Louis Vuitton, J Brand, Vogue and Harpers Bazaar, Spencer was excited to design a collection for a lifestyle brand she has loved all her life.
"This collection is such a true reflection of me,'' said the Aussie-born, New York-based model, designer, stylist, creative director and photographer.
"I am a beach girl at heart and this Billabong collection is a testament to that!" laughed Spencer. The collection perfectly traces Spencer's jet set lifestyle, from Rio de Janeiro to New York, California, the Caribbean, Paris and as many beaches she can find in between.
"I wanted to create a collection that I could throw in a suitcase and have everything I needed for whenever I was away" said Spencer, who lives for travel, fashion and adventure.
Everyday favorites like the denim jacket and lace up jeans are combined with the ultimate bomber jacket and daring micro mini dresses to provide a classic new style of urban beach wear.
"I wanted to create my favorite wardrobe staples. Like the must have jean, skirt, perfect little dresses that would work on the beach in Hossegor or in the middle of summer in NY." True to Spencer's style, pieces from the collection are predominantly in black, white or leopard print.
"Alex has an amazing sense of fashion and personal style. She's knows exactly what she wants and has this unique way of merging high fashion with an unfussy, natural beach vibe. She pretty much lives the dream and collaborating with her was a great experience for the team," said Billabong Design Director Allison Roberts.
The collection debuts the first week in September worldwide. Equal parts sexy and sophisticated; this carefully curated collection reflects Spencer's unfailing interesting daily life and might just inspire you to pack your bags.
