Schwalbe
tire manufacturer offers at its freeride, enduro and downhill tires on
future models with the new Super Gravity Karkassentechnik. Up
to 700 grams less weight and improved puncture protection provide for
jack, Rocket Ron, rock and Razor Magic Maryland for better performance
on all surfaces.
During
the development of Super-Gravity Technology Schwalbe has made bonds of
motorcycle tires and transferred to the bicycle tire, so the carcass was
revised and stabilizes the tire against punctures. In
Schwalbes downhill tire carcass have a double structure was employed,
were used in the total of four layers in a tire, the overlapped to the
tread and there were a total of six layers.
The
new Super Gravity tire also has two carcass plies can be used, but now,
in contrast to previously overlap at the side walls. In this patent pending turn-up process is thus results in four layers at the sides, but only two of the tread. This saves weight and also ensures optimum grip with a more flexible tread.
To protect the casing against cuts, Swallow uses the robust and flexible snake-skin layer. In addition, the apex (a small wedge which amplifies also car and motorcycle tires) are stable in the bead area.
The Apex is working in an optimized shape and with a harder rubber compound against the penetration forces acting there.
The
tire is designed among other things to the requirements of teams and
drivers that work with Swallow in his "First Ride Development Program",
including MS Mondraker, Scott11, Giant and Devinci.
