Groupe Go Sports reported consolidated sales for the first half 2013
reached €310.8 million ($406 mm), down by 4.0 percent on a same-store
basis on a currency-neutral basis, according to its controlling
shareholder Rallye.
The third largest sporting Goods retailer in France said sales at its
flagship banner, Go Sport France, declined -5.8 percent amid lackluster
trading. Sales at Go Sport Poland increased 0.8 percent on the strength
of a 5.6 percent increase in second quarter sales. The company’s
running banner, Courir, posted sales growth of 1.3 percent in the first
half, marking its sixth consecutive period of sales growth.
Groupe Go Sport’s EBITDA declined to -€7,8m (-$10 mm) due primarily
to lower sales. Courir and Go Sport Poland increased profitability
during the period.
Rallye , which owns several major supermarket
chains and operates globally, reported net sales rose 36.2 percent to
€24.1 billion in the first half as it integrated two recent
