San Francisco, CA: SOL REPUBLIC,
a headphone company and music lifestyle brand that is committed to
changing the world one listener at a time, added two senior team members
to its roster with the addition of Brian Cassaro and Matt Sharkey.
Cassaro will take over the reigns as the GM of the Action Sports and
Tastemaker business for SOL REPUBLIC and Matt Sharkey as the Senior
Director of Marketing Development.
Cassaro has a lengthy tenure in Action Sports and will remain in
Southern California with the Action Sports and Tastemaker SR team. His
career includes time at Channel Islands Surfboards and senior posts as
the sales manager at Spy Optic and most recently as the Marketing
Director of Action Sports at DC Shoes working on Snow, Surf and
Motocross categories, with some time spent in Rally and BMX as well.
Cassaro will refine SOL REPUBLIC’s focus in Action Sports and
Tastemakers, which will not only include managing the ASTM business, but
also the management of SOL REPUBLIC’s Action Sports marketing
initiatives and athletes, including pro-surfer Julian Wilson and
skateboarders Erik Ellington and Lizard King.
Sharkey will be managing SOL REPUBLIC’s global Savior of Sound
program, including major DJ’s Steve Aoki and Lil Jon, musicians We Came
As Romans and athletes, such as Michael Phelps. SOL REPUBLIC also counts
up-and-coming athletes, artists, musicians and DJ’s among its Saviors
of Sound, all of which is led by Sharkey. Sharkey’s career started in
Athlete Management & Marketing for Powell Skateboards and includes
positions at NHS, Sessions, Sole Technology, Clif Bar, Chrome and his
own PR/Marketing and Athlete Management company, Blue Collar Hero.
Sharkey will work at SOL REPUBLIC’s global headquarters in San
Francisco, CA.
