Business people : Yakima Names Industry Veterans to Director of Sales Positions

Yakima Products, Inc. hired two new directors of sales for North America, effective immediately. Justin Manthe has been named director of sales, West, and Ben Tindall is director of sales, East. Both Manthe and Tindall report to Jason McGibbon, senior director of sales, North America.

“I am beyond thrilled to have these two incredibly talented individuals join the Yakima family,” said McGibbon. “Both Justin and Ben bring extensive sales experience in the outdoor and cycling industries as well as outstanding relationships with several of our sales teams and key retail partners.”

Justin Manthe comes to Yakima after a long tenure in sales leadership positions at Electra Bicycle Company. For the past five years, he has been the company’s director of sales, helping Electra become one of the top ten bicycle brands in the United States.

As Yakima’s director of sales, West, Manthe will focus on managing the company’s western states sales representative groups, including BP Associates, Livin' the Dream, Pacific Rep Works, RideRep Group and Rocky Mountain Rep Group. Manthe will also closely manage the company’s relationships with key strategic accounts in his territory.

Ben Tindall is also a seasoned outdoor and sporting goods industry veteran, with extensive experience in the snow sports, outdoor, sporting goods and military/law enforcement/tactical channels. He joins Yakima after a long tenure with American Recreation Products, where, in his last position, he managed the Eastern region and the company’s military and government sales. Additionally, he has experience managing national outdoor retailer accounts.

As Yakima’s director of sales, East, Tindall will focus on managing the Atlantic Associates, Robb Sports Sales, Sport Tech Sales, Team Maxem and Tri-Marketing Group sales teams, in addition to other key strategic partners.

“With their deep experience in and passion for the outdoor and cycling industries, we know that Justin and Ben will help bring the company’s three-brand portfolio of Yakima, Whispbar and Prorack to the next level,” added McGibbon. “We’re excited to introduce them to retailers, starting at Interbike, as part of our new powerhouse sales leadership team.”
